Alison Murdoch

Founder & Director

Alison Murdoch is a local resident with a particular interest in kindness. In Frome, she’s been a co-founder of Fair Housing for Frome and the Keyford Neighbourhood Group as well as of The Good Heart. She was previously the director of an international education non-profit called the Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom. 

Karen Creffield 

Director

Karen Creffield lives with her family in Frome. She is the Practice and Primary Care Network Manager at Frome Medical Practice. She previously worked for many years at the University of Sussex with oversight of Sport, Fitness and Well Being. She is also a yoga teacher. She is passionate about supporting health and sustainability and the role kindness can play in these.

Simon Keyes

Director

Simon Keyes is secretary of Friends of the River Frome, Advisor on peacebuilding to the Diocese of Bath and Wells and Professor of Reconciliation at the University of Winchester. Simon is often seen about town with his spaniel Lola.

Terésa Hadland

Director

Terésa has worked with individuals and groups in the field of health and wellbeing for over 30 years, in the UK and Europe.  In Frome she has been involved in a number of local groups centred around fostering good relationships.  She is a founder member of Wellbeing Frome and believes passionately that self-awareness is the key to good relationships with others.

Rebecca Collins

Director

Rebecca Collins is a freelance social justice educator, a domestic abuse/sexual violence group session facilitator and Assistant Manager at SHARE:Frome.  She is a member of Frome's "Let's Talk" restorative converstations group as well as being the part-time Venue Manager at The Good Heart.  She is a keen potter, knitter and crafter and goes practically everywhere with her cute cockapoo, Coco.

Martha Oster

Director & Schools Outreach Facilitator

Martha Oster is mum to a young family, living in Frome.  With a background in religion, education and psychotherapy, Martha has always been interested in the ways people treat one another and the impact this has on community and wellbeing.  Martha will be leading our work in schools, delivering creative workshops and engaging the young people in the area.

Melanie Dalton

Communications Manager

Mel joined as Development Worker for The Good Heart team in November 2021. She has previously been a Director of Fair Housing for Frome and has worked as a facilitator for many years, delivering creative workshops for Heritage Services in Bath. Mel lives with her young family in Frome. She loves getting involved with local creative projects and enjoys the occasional escape to the Frome Boulder Rooms.

Emma Gatherer

Treasurer

Emma lives in Frome with her young family and runs a small accounting business called ‘The Copper Coins’.  She enjoys going on bike rides, building dens with her kids, making her own clothes and doing Crossfit!

Vicki Ross

Venue Manager & Warm Spaces

Co-ordinator

Vicki joined The Good Heart as Warm Spaces coordinator in December 2022. She practiced as a Speech and Language therapist for over fifteen years, before training as an actor/ storyteller. She was Project Manager for the Frome Charity ‘Openstorytellers’ for seven years.

In latter years Vicki has been a Team Leader for rehabilitative services and in her spare time loves to be in the water at every possible opportunity!

Susie Jenkins Temple & Jess Francombe

Kindness Festival Organisers

Susie & Jess both have backgrounds in events and theatre management, most recently Emergence Festival and Wild In East Woodlands.  They are both passionate about the transformative power of kindness and building community in their hometown of Frome.  They balance the administration of The Frome Kindness Festival alongside raising children and running other projects such as Frome Families For Future, Naff Art Club and  Single Mothers United Together (SMUT)
